Bring the finish back into focus.

Paint correction is a polishing process that improves the appearance of defects in the clear coat. Fine wash swirls, light scratches, haze, and oxidation can make paint look flat even after a thorough wash. By choosing an appropriate combination of polishing pads, compounds, and technique, correction refines that surface so the paint reflects light more clearly and the color looks deeper.

The right approach depends on the vehicle. A lightly marked daily driver may benefit from a single polishing stage, while a more heavily swirled finish may need a cutting stage followed by refinement. Paint condition, previous repairs, sensitive edges, and safe working limits all matter. CoastalGloss focuses on improving the finish responsibly, with realistic expectations about what can be removed and what is better left alone. Correction can stand on its own or form the preparation for a ceramic coating.

Match the correction to the paint.

We assess the finish before recommending the polishing work. More aggressive is not automatically better.

A noticeable refresh

Gloss enhancement

A lighter polishing approach focuses on restoring gloss and reducing mild haze or fine wash marks. It is a useful option when the paint is generally sound and your priority is a cleaner, brighter appearance rather than chasing every individual defect.

  • Refresh dull reflections
  • Address lighter surface marks
  • A practical improvement for a regularly driven car

NO CORNERS
CUT.

No corners cut means inspecting, testing, and checking the finish throughout the job—not applying the same aggressive combination to every car.

Wash & decontaminate

The vehicle is cleaned to remove surface dirt and bonded contamination where appropriate. Polishing on a properly prepared surface helps avoid carrying contamination through the correction process.

Inspect & test

We assess visible defects, previous work, and areas requiring extra care. A test section helps establish an effective approach and realistic results before committing to the same process across the vehicle.

Correct with care

Polishing proceeds in controlled sections with suitable pads and products. Edges, trim, and sensitive areas are protected or worked around. Paint preservation guides the process when a defect cannot safely be chased further.

Refine & review

The finish is checked as polishing progresses and again after residue is removed. Any agreed protection follows on a correctly prepared surface, with washing and maintenance advice for keeping the result looking its best.
